Animate bible stories
using Egli Figurines
What are Egli-Figurines?
Egli-figurines allow us to
tell bible stories not only verbally but also in a realistic and understandable
manner. They are made from a flexical material that allows them to be shown in different
postures and movements. Changing the gestures allows expressing sentiments, joy
and fear, hope and dispair, sympathy and denial. The faces of the figurines are
plain and therefore not tied to a particular emotion. The feet are made of lead
given the figure stability. The average size for the adult figures is 30 cm and
those of the children naturally smaller.
The clothing of natural
material is a special characteristic and the clothing can be changed to allow
each figure to play different roles.
How and where can
Egli-Figurines be used?
Egli-figurines can be used
anywhere where one is concerned with the word of God; in children's services,
in religious and conformation construction, in youth or senior groups, in the
family and in private bible studies.
How can you get
Egli-Figurines?
You cannot buy these
figurines – they are made in work seminars under the direction of an instructor
who provides the necessary material. This guarantees high quality. The
instruction is very important in the fabrication of the clothing and learning
to manipulate the figures and building the scenes. To join one of the seminar
one only needs interest in bible stories and a little skill. You can make 3
figurines in the basic seminars.
We also offer additional
seminars where one can make the animals, tents and accessories to round out the
stories.
In addition to the work
seminars we also offer creative seminars to expand on certain things.
What is the origin of the
Egli-Figurines?
These biblical figures were
first created in Baar in Switzerland by Doris and Primo Egli and their family.
In the sixties the young parents began to tell biblical stories to their
children using figurines enchanting the children and also others. Today many
people make their own figures in the various seminars in Switzerland, Germany
and Austria.
